The first Grateful Sunday of the year feels like a natural place to pause. The start of a new year often comes with pressure to reset, plan, and improve. Instead, I want to begin this year by acknowledging what I’m grateful for and setting a steady tone for the months ahead. Gratitude helps me approach the year with clarity rather than urgency. As a mother, that perspective matters. The days are already full, and I’ve learned that starting the year grounded makes it easier to move through it with intention.
Starting the Year with Gratitude

I’m grateful for the lessons that carried over from last year. Some were expected, others were not, but all of them shaped how I show up for my family and for myself. Motherhood continues to teach me patience, flexibility, and the importance of giving myself grace. Progress doesn’t always look visible or measurable. Often, it seems like consistency, presence, and learning when to slow down.
This Grateful Sunday also marks the beginning of another year of writing and sharing here. This space has become a place for reflection, honesty, and connection. I’m thankful for every reader who takes the time to engage with my work, whether through comments, messages, or simply reading along.

As the year unfolds, I look forward to sharing more reflections, family moments, and everyday experiences. My goal is not perfection, but honesty and consistency. I want this space to reflect real life, in all its seasons.
I’m entering this year without rigid resolutions. Instead, I’m choosing a simple focus: to stay present, to write with intention, and to continue practicing gratitude even when life feels busy or uncertain.

“…to write with intention” – you said a mouthful! And you always do that here on this blog. 🙂 A middle-aged dude from the Southern US with no kids, and I connect so much with your posts!
Happy New Year to you and your family, Marielle. Take care! <3
Thank you for the support and the lovely comment Robert! Happy New Year!
