January Is Truly the Longest Month

January always feels like it lasts three months instead of one. It’s cold in that deep, bone-level way, the kind of cold that makes you question every decision that involves leaving the house. The holidays are over, the excitement has faded, and winter is still very much doing the most.
And yet, this week is actually full. I have so many things planned, which feels both exciting and slightly overwhelming. Appointments, errands, work things, and in the middle of it all, something really special: taking my daughter skiing for the first time.
I keep thinking about how these little “firsts” sneak up on you. In the middle of the longest, coldest month, there’s still magic waiting. I know there will be cold fingers, probably a few falls, and a lot of laughs. I also know I’ll want to freeze the moment in my mind forever.
January might be relentless, but it still holds memories worth making. Even when it’s freezing. Even when it feels endless.
Here’s to bundling up, pushing through, and finding joy where we can.
