What a long week. I ended up skipping Grateful Sunday last week, and if I’m being honest, it came down to poor time management on my part. Life moved faster than I did. Between school routines, work deadlines, content creation, and everyday mom life, something had to give and this time, it was my weekly reflection.
Finding Balance in a Busy Mom Week

Last week was also our very first week of karate for two of my kids. Starting new extracurricular activities with kids is exciting, but it definitely comes with a learning curve. So far, it’s going really well, and they absolutely love it. Watching them build confidence, discipline, and focus through karate for kids has been such a reminder of why we say yes to these busy seasons.
That said, I’m still trying to figure out a schedule that actually works for our family. When you’re a mom of multiple kids, every new activity shifts the rhythm of the whole household. I’m especially trying to plan around naps for the youngest, who is somehow turning one next month. One. I truly don’t know how we got here so fast. First birthday planning is officially on my to-do list, even though part of me wants to slow time down just a little.
This week wasn’t my most productive week. I didn’t check off as many tasks as I would have liked, and today we attended a wake for my sister’s partner’s dad, who recently passed away. Moments like that put everything into perspective. Productivity, emails, content calendars all of it feels small when you’re reminded how fragile life is.
If I’m taking anything from this week, it’s this: balance isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about adjusting when life shifts. It’s about showing up for your family, even when your planner doesn’t look impressive.
As a busy mom, I’m learning that some weeks will feel full and aligned, and others will feel messy and heavy. Both are part of the journey.
This coming week, I’m hoping for a little more structure and a little more focus as I prepare for my son’s first birthday and continue settling into our new routine with karate classes. But even if it’s not perfect, I’m grateful. Grateful for health. Grateful for family. Grateful for the opportunity to reset every Sunday and try again.
Here’s to a more productive, peaceful week ahead.
