These popsicle stick spring flowers will bring a bit of sunshine to your home.
I’ve been dreaming of spring weather since old man winter appeared. There’s just something about bright colors that seems to drive the winter blues away. If you want to bring some sunshine to your indoors, then our popsicle stick spring flowers will add a bit of color to your home, and best of all you don’t need to water them.
Popsicle Stick Spring Flowers
Here is what you’ll need:
Popsicle Sticks (Colored ones are best, but you can use regular ones and color them)
Gems/Buttons/Pompoms (You can use whatever you have)
It takes little to no time to make these so I suggest making an entire field of flowers. The more, the merrier.
- Start by gathering the popsicle sticks you’re going to use. You’re going to need 5 popsicle sticks per flower. 4 for the petals and 1 for the stem.
- To make your petals, glue your 4 popsicle sticks in the shape of a star. The way we did, it was to glue them in the shape of an X and then glue both X’s together.
- Add a dab of glue in the middle and the attach your stem.
- Flip your flower over, and on the opposite side of your stem, attach your gem/button/pompom in the middle with some glue.
That’s it! Can you believe how easy this was? It literally took me about 5 minutes to get them all done. If you have small children, you can use craft glue instead of the glue gun, but it will take a bit longer to dry.
For more immersive play, use the regular sticks so that your kids can color the sticks whatever color they desire. Let your kids get involved and let them do it their way, so if they want to have different color petals, let them. After all, no two flower are ever the same; they are unique as your child. Encourage their creativity and let their creative juices flow. They just might surprise you.
